Porsche Carrera GT
I was driving on Santa Monica Boulevard near Westwood Blvd (California) yesteday when I saw one of these bad boys. Two things struck me. It looks a little odd in person, in the sense that it was designed more for purposeful performance than appearance (a good thing).
AND THE ENGINE SOUND.
It wasn't the throaty rumble we normally associate with horsepower. It was a high-pitched whine, like a Formula 1 engine.
They may charge over $400,000 for the car, but the engine sound alone is worth that much.
Thought you'd like to know.

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
Wheeee...
We've got a GT and an Enzo bopping around up here.
I noticed the same thing about the GT - odd looks and poor sound.

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
I dont know if I like the sound of the engine or not. I'd like to see it in person though, one of the family's clients has something to do with the Porsche company and he didnt like it too much. Then again he thought the Bugatti (sp) felt "too big."

Porsche Carrera GT moves to #2 on my dream list behind McLaren F1.
Like it matters,

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
Even though I do not like Porsches, I can say that one is pretty nice.

Re: Porsche Carrera GT
If you are driving it and doing 150 mph, you wouldn't hear anything due to the doppler affect anyway...would you?

$440K price / 205 mph top speed. I heard one of them fired up at the dealer in service department. Love that sound.
