You should park your wipers before you cut the ignition anyway.

I was just running in and out of a store during the rain - I don't think "parking the wipers" every time should be a requirement. That’s like stating “turn off your radio every time you leave the H3”.

If you were getting out then they would shut off as soon as you opened the door so what was the problem? Parking the wipers every time is nothing like turning off the radio every time.

As soon as you open the door, they turn off. What's the big deal?

Agreed, I don't have a problem with wipers staying on until I open the door. I usually park them so I did not notice.

If you leave your radio on and your rig gets some ice/snow it'll still work when you start her up again, you might not be able to say the same thing for the wipper blades...just park'em

Since you can't figure it out I'll explain it again but in more detail so it makes fcking sense to you. It was raining, the wipers were on delay mode, I turned off the ignition, the radio stayed on, the wipers must have been in the middle of a rest cycle, I reached for some papers, opened the door to get out and at the same time the wipers started the wipe cycle and stopped in the middle of the windshield. This is not what I expected would happen.
Later in the day I made a test of the same situation. That time the wipers didn’t stop but made a complete cycle back to the rest position. Fluky – yes but it did happen and could happen again.

Now that you gave some details things are more clear. Your first post made is sound like it was a probably that they would run off the RAP system.

So.... what's your point? And how does that clear up your radio analogy?

My concern with the wipers is the way snow builds up on the drivers side during a snow storm. But I think that's been discussed before.

I've installed a remote camera in the garage to check my wipers hourly. Thanks for the heads up.

Sounds like RAP working as designed. I still don't understand what the problem is.

My point about the radio is not item specific. The radio staying is common with all new vehicles and for me this is acceptable. The wipers – not so common and why do I need to turn off an electrical/mechanical device. Two points:
a) the wipers stopping in the middle of the windshield – not acceptable but no damage done, other than it makes the H3 look bad when parked.
b) the wipers in a rest position, waiting to come on when the H3 is started, the windshield getting full of ice or snow – damage can be expected.
