I am looking into buying a roll of the magnetic material they use for signs on vehicles. I have found a great deal on a roll that should more than cover every place I want to but have a few questions.
First, I can only find this material with a white face. Has anyone ever found any that is black on both sides? If is comes down to it, could I paint the white or something like that and would it stay on this flexible material.
Second, what mil thickness should I go with. Basically I am looking to protect against scratches from brush and branches. I am not going to go where I have something thick rubbing down the side of the vehicle so I would think the magnetic material doesn't have to be that thick.
Any input would be appreciated.

You don't sound too happy with how they came out or worked. If the spay paint stays on I would either spray them black or try to find something close to Slate blue.

Thin. They really don't have to be very thick. You'll need to tape the leading edges to hold them on. Wind and branches can sneak up under them.

A few weeks ago I came across a site that sells camo and upland printed magnetic shields for the H2's (pre-cut to dress the whole vehicle. I was hoping that they would come out with same for H3's. Anyone else know about this?

The elcova store has the H2 shields as well as Trailduty. I looked at the manufacturers site and I did not see any for the H3 yet. I am sure that they are working on the H3 shields and they will be available here or at Trailduty when they are produced.
Newbie,
I searched a little for magnet sheets-
This company has color options-
http://www.magnetking.com/#regularmagnet
It says cut to anysize on the home page so you may be able to special order something to the length you would need. I don't have the capacity to try too figure that stuff out - that is a man/math thing.
The medium thickness (0.030") is like a car sign magnet- which is as thick or thicker than the shields I believe. So you can get nerdy and use that as a reference to figure the thickness.

We could sign it like a cast or a missle. Lets use permanent markers and put the names of own3d trails on them.

nice grammar with the proper spelling of "cum" given the context.

Im not sure just what your talking about , but magnetic ?
We put some magentic signs on a new dodge truck , it cuased a weird reaction with the clear coat over the paint . When the signs were taken off you could see right where they had been .

H3 condoms and shrinkwrap. I understand mudflaps on Hummers. And I understand the stuff people do to protect high value exotic sports cars. But Hummers owned by many that do a bit of offroading? And most H3's are used as daily drivers, not as garage queens. Use it and enjoy for sure.

Sounds like there must have been something else that caused this. They have been using this material for vehicle signs like that for many years.
