I have just installed the Flowmaster 50 Series Delta Flow muffler with a dual exhaust with Magnaflow tips. See the pictures and click on the link for the sound. (the sound takes a while since it is a large file).
Here is the sound at various RPMs max 3000 rpm.

I'm still trying to find a place for the tips to exit where they wont become damaged offroad. The picture seems like those tips are up higher than any others I've seen. Through the bumper would be cool but I dont know if it's possible with the restricted clearances under there. I know that muffler is supposed to limit interior noise. Does it?

The total bill was $400. This includes the muffler, pipe, installation and those tips, which were $90 of the $400. The interior noise is indeed limited. I can see if I can make a recording inside while driving. There is a lot of space once the original mufler is gone. I made sure that they are high up and will not be damaged during offroading. I will make a pic from the side to show you.
I'm not sure how the back bumper guard mounts but I would expect there is place for the guard and the dual pipes.
I really like the sound, of course it is not a V8 and that remains a challenge. I'm hoping that we soon get a sounf clip from the new GM (Borla) exhaust.

In this picture you can see that the tips should not be in the way for offroading.

Awesome. Thanks for taking the plunge and investing money into a system you was unsure of.
Sounds great, good picture illustration. Guess I can stop searching links to this question.
I have taken my time with the H3, more so than any other vehicle I have owned( almost made the flow master 40 series mistake) Now I can only say I copied ya.

H3Eric,
Yes I'm glad you had the guts to try something original. Most of the dual exhaust systems are very expensive/high margin products with questionable benefits.
So I will ask you the usual questions. I think your observations and opinions are even more valuable than the sound files.
1. Did you do an intake system (like K&N)? (I'm asking about your intake since some of these intake systems cause of lot of noise)
2. How's the noise in the cabin compared to stock?
3. Does it drone at freeway speeds?
4. Does it sound better than stock outside?
Thanks,
S.

1. Did you do an intake system (like K&N)? (I'm asking about your intake since some of these intake systems cause of lot of noise)
I still have the original intake.
2. How's the noise in the cabin compared to stock?
I will get a sound file tonight. But it is louder of course and you can hear the exhaust. I personally don't think it is a problem. Remember I wanted this exhaust to get more sound anyway.
3. Does it drone at freeway speeds?
Around 2500 RPM you can hear the drone that everybody talks about. It also depends it he car is at cold or hot.
4. Does it sound better than stock outside?
A definite yes here. I like the sound much better. I wish it could be more like a heavy V8 but it is not a V8. I think the posted sound file is very realistic.
does somebody already have soundfiles for the other exhausts (SMA, Borla, etc)

Verry nice, indeed. Do you know if a dynaflow test of the system is available? Was that a do it yourselfer, Muffler shop, or Dealer job?
Thanks.
