Default Alpha Q's?

I am working on a project and need to find out a couple of things for the Alpha.

Can anyone tell me (for sure) if there is a winch bumper for the Alpha?
Is the bumper setup differnt from the H3's I had?

Anyone running 35's on an alpha? What's the real world fuel economy with the 35's mounted up? OR comparison to the original engine?

Is there a Hypertech or Superchips programmer available?

Anyone using aftermarket exhaust on the Alpha?

Any other feedback would be appreciated for those that switched form the original engine to the ALpha.

(towing, off road, accelration, etc.)

Default Re: Alpha Q's?

There is a winch bumper for the Alpha. It is at Towbin Hummer in Las Vegas. Call them for the brand name and price. I think it is aroubt 895.00 w/o winch. The winch that works with it is the WARN 9000ti.

35's will fit. They will rub under extreme supsention flex. You can count on about a 15%-20% worse gas mileage. If you run 35"s on a H3 with an I5...it will be a DOG. With the Alpha 5.3 V8, you definately notice it being a little sluggish. If I put 35's on my Alpha, I would go up to a 4:35 in gearing to offset the tire size. As far as I know, there is NO programmer or Chip for the Alpha. I tried a Chevy Silvarado 5.3 EDGE programmer. It worked until I told the programmer to load the new programs into the Alpha's computer. At that point the programmer would not continue.

I have heard that the Magnaflow exhaust give you alittle more up top (3000 +RPM). But because of less back pressure you lose some torque. I am keeping my stock exhaust. I will upgrade the air box when something comes out.

Towing - 6000lbs, Acceleration - 8.65 0-60mph.

The I5 engine is great for offroad, less power but better MPG. The offroad situation where the Alpha's big engine pays off is in sand or deep mud.

I hope that helps. I came from 5 years with a very modified H2 ; (See my H2 Picture under the post about my new H3 Alpha), and I LOVE IT
