Trading my '06 for an '08 - Couple ?'s
I live 2 hours away from the nearest dealership, so it's kinda difficult for me to get out and kick tires.
As always, money is an issue, so I'm trying to figure out what I can live without on the new H3. I currently have an Adventure, but this time I want leather, and I can't handle not having a moonroof,
So where it stands now, this is what I'm thinking:
Solar Flare Metallic (never seen it in person, but pics look good)
Luxury Package (Light Cashmere)
Moonroof
Towing Package
Are there any cheap 'must-have' options that I'm forgetting? I'm planning on taking my current grill guard off, and transferring it to the new truck.. should'nt be a problem right?
Also other than the engine and interior door panels, what else has been changed from the '06 to '08 models?

Be sure to compare what you've listed vs the Alpha. The Alpha comes with almost everything you've listed AND the off-road pkg w/33" tires (has less chrome too if you like that) Might be less expensive getting the Alpha - worth loking into.

for "06 and "07 the side curtain airbags were an option, and now on all "08's it comes standard. And CWS the H3 Alpha comes with all the chrome theres no way out of it, where as on the regular H3's the chrome package is an option. Also I don't bieleve the Alpha comes with the 33" tires look on HUMMERS site on specs and dimension or at features and options and it shows all teh standard equipment and it shows the 32" as standard and the 33" tires as an option. and it defintly doesnt come with the offroad package, becuase the offroad suspension is a $1,375 option, just take a look on HUMMER's website.

Re: Trading my '06 for an '08 - Couple ?'s
I liked the Solar Flare in pics, but in person it looks like one of those colors that could get old quick, so I decided to go with my gut and get the black. I want the chrome, lol, so it is good for my situation.
I think sunroofs are over rated. I got it but really didn't want it. In hindsight, I think I should have gotten one with a backup camera because the wife keeps complaining about that even though I can drive it fine.

Re: Trading my '06 for an '08 - Couple ?'s
I love the solar flare color but its not really for me, i like the more military style looks, so for me if i were to go with a new "08 i'd take that graphite grey in a heartbeat, in my opinion its one of teh coolest colors available on any vehicle. I'm also not a big fan of the sunroofs becuase as i said i wanted mine to be as military as possible and quite frankily if theres a sunroof it just takes away from that feel.

Re: Trading my '06 for an '08 - Couple ?'s
Yeah... I'm definitely leaning towards the Graphite color now, but now I'm torn b/w the Cashmere leather or the Ebony w/ Morroco.
I really wish I could convince myself that I don't need the moonroof... but I KNOW if I order it w/o, I'm gonna regret it. I have one now, and I use it all the time.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!

Watch for a "special package" this spring where you won't have to buy the Alpha package to get certain Alpha options.

Re: Trading my '06 for an '08 - Couple ?'s
I have a black alpha adventure with the ebony morrocco and I love it. I hardly ever see very many with that interior and makes it a little more unique which is part of the reason I bought one. As previously stated the adventure pack is not standard, but in my opinion is well worth the extra money if you can swing it. I think that it rides better (I like more of taunt ride) and if you are planning on doing any off-roading the rear locker is worth every cent. If you have a sunroof now and use all of the time I would think that you are going to end up regretting not getting one. I have never owned a vehicle that had a sunroof until now and I don't think that I will ever buy another truck with out it.

Re: Trading my '06 for an '08 - Couple ?'s
Thanks for all the input. I'm off to the dealer this afternoon to place my order (the way the system I'm using works forces me to order new, instead of being able to get a new one off the lot.)
Other than the $289/month base model lease, are there any other deals going on that you guys are aware of? I know when I got mine last time, I was able to get $1000 off the DVD Headrests.
Thanks again.
