Has anyone removed the NAV unit from a 2004/2005? I am curious where the GPS antenna is located.
I'm putting together the parts to upgrade my 2003 to a NAV unit. I was thinking of fab'ing a splitter cable for the onstar GPS antenna and tying in the NAV unit. I saw the dash removal Klaus went thru, and am looking for less painful alternative.
Any details on the GPS antenna is appreciated...don't know if this is passive antenna or if it possibly receives power from the onstar unit...which could complicate the splitter idea.
Thanks

I doubt you will be able to use a splitter to use 2 GPS devices (OnStar and NAV) with just the one OnStar antenna.
Delphi told me that the NAV unit antenna is an "active" unit.
