Found out what the rattling sound was coming from the sunroof.
Hey all,
Just thought I would say hello. I recently purchased my first H2 (sunset orange) and as with every other vehicle I have and will own, the modification process begins...
Already checked the search feature and found out that the side panels on the windshield was the culprit of my rattling/squeak. Having been in the bodyshop business for over 20 years, I already had it cleaned and twosided tape immediately.... cured that problem.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and ask a couple of questions.
I'm in the process of ordering a lift. Unlike the Yukon I just sold with 12" of lift, I'd like to keep the H2 a little more driveable. My intention was to install Rancho's 4" lift with a set of 35's.
I was told by one of the local 4WD places that Rancho's 4" lift creates alot of bump steer. Can anyone confirm that?
Also, if I do go with the 6" kit, is it of general concensus that 35's would look too small with a 6" lift? If I had to go to 37's, will the H2 become a dog?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

welcome.
Many of us run 37's witout a lift and really is about the same for pick up.
I think the rancho lift with 35's will look too small. 37's will look a little better.
Bumpsteer? Not sure on that though.

IMHO, the H2 already drives like crap. The 6" lift and 37s don't make much of a difference at all. It's actually more responsive than stock if you add the Fabtech steering kit. Anyways, it's a Hummer, not a BMW...don't expect a road handling machine.

You think it drives like crap? To me, it feels like a 4wd version of my blown C5. It's tight and smooth.
Of course, I just sold my Yukon and the biggest problem was tire balancing. 38's on 16" rims doesn't make for happy balancing.
I wasn't so much worried about whether the 37's affect driveability as much as how it'll make it feel horsepowerwise. I didn't know if 37's cut the gear ratio too much and make it sluggish.
thanks,
Mark
