Tires
I'm sure this topic has been totally wornout, but I'm a newbie and I'm picking up my new H3 on Friday [hang on I gotta take a deep breath] o.k. anyway I want to up grade the tires and I need some opinions. I'd like to get something big but not too loud on the road. I won't be doing a lot of "real" off roading like Moab, are 35's too big? Any favorites for looks/cost? I need some help! Thanks.

Re: Tires
I have BFG Mud T/A 35's (actually 34.5 - 315s) on stock rims. They fit fine without any lift. Minor rub on right front sway bar at full lock, but this won't go away with leveling. I have Toyo Open Country MT on my 2006 TRD Tacoma and I like them, too. The Open Country are probably more "road friendly." I don't think there is any real difference between the 2 when it comes to road noise. But I think the Mud T/A have been better off road. Good Luck. Put up pics of your new ride when you get it! ...and welcome aboard.

Re: Tires
Here's an all-purpose discussion I had about 5 months ago:
http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=25592
As of right now? Well, I still have 31's, but I hope to have 33's. That's all I need and you can do just fine with those or even the 31's for that matter. I've taken some pretty gnarly trails ( ) in Big Bear and I have been okay.

Re: Tires
I would recommend going with the Bridgestones that come on the adv pack. I have heard great things about them as well. They also wear like iron

Re: Tires
Of course I have the 33's that come with the Adventure package!
How well do the chrome wheels last when off roading? I asked my dealer and they are willing to give me a set of regular alloy wheels to switch out when going off road. Actually when I bought the truck, according to Hummer, if the Adventure/Luxury package was added, then the regular wheels were standard, and not the chrome wheels like it says in the catalog. I was bummed, but got a great deal ($900 - I think) on a set of 4 chrome wheels. I got to thinking that if I were to off road (more likely, when I was going to), it might be nice to have another set, hence the question to the dealer.
The only problem to this is, is that I have to drive to Omaha (3 hrs) to pick them up!

Re: Tires
Maybe you got ripped off?
I got the chrome wheels with my Adventure/Lux package, three weeks ago.

Maybe! Of course this was the dealership's explanation, so one never knows! Does anyone know if I was told the truth or if I got ripped off?
Did they come with the vehicle or did you have to pay for them?

Re: Tires
Thanks for all of the advice! I opted for the 33's that come with the adventure package. I just picked up my truck on Friday, man do I love that vehicle!
