I need more juice, a hobby I have requires me to charge batteries and they take a lot of juice! 16000mah drawing 25-30 amps while charging... I want to add a second battery, or just a deep cycle marine battery with an isolator. Doesn't look like there's any room up front.... I looked under the rear bumper and it looks like there may be space there...
Any suggestions???

Thanks, Mike

I'm looking to do the samething. Figured there was room in eng bay. A 120 amp hour. You may not think much of this idea but I've added solar to an RV before. Using a 25 volt regular. I plan on camping for a period and not wanting to run H2 to charge batteries for pc's, gps, video and radio cb & lights. This will be an on going thing off and on for 10 to 18 months. I've heard panels come with built in regulators now. of course I've owned small Honda gen very quite. But I like solar.

I have plans to, one of these days, put an Optima up in the right rear, I think on the outside of the frame. I found some polyethyline case that looks industrial and well made but I will have to do a search again to find it.

If you do a search for "battery relocation" you'll find some options.

I just had the center console opened up and there seems to be enough room under there. You'd lose your storage bin, though.

if you switch to Optima gell cell batterys they can be mounted up side down if nessary, so it gives lots of options.

I'm getting a dual battery set up w/ an isolator next week. I'll post pics and give details as soon as it's done.

Here are some links to the two battery setup. We are using a battery isolator for now but will move to two alternators later.

We are also adding an 8" screen where the headunit usually goes and relocating onstar to the center console. Check out the rest of the pics and let me know what you think.
