The speedometer in the wife’s H2 started to jitter for several weeks and then it worked for a few days off and on then when dead. All of the other instrument work fine. I and leaning toward replacing the PCM. I have toyed with replacing the OSS sending unit on the transmission but the cruse control still works. From my understanding they both use the same speed pick up module. I have heard that a weak signal may work for the cruse but the speedometer needs a stronger signal.

Does anyone have any ideas if I should replace the sending unit first or will that just be throwing good money after bad?

I thought cruse control uses engine vacuum for its sensor, don't no for sure.

Replace the PCM if you like wasting money.
Replace the IPC if you want to fix your problem.

Thanks. I will look intothe IPC.

I wish it did not rack up miles but the odometer and cruse both still function. My dealer recomended the PCM. I could not see how this would be the problem without other issues in shifting or performance.
