Wiring Off Road Lights
Hey everybody, I hope someone on here can give me some advise. I recently bought (4) Hella FF75 lights. The main reason I bought these are because of their low profile; they are going on a custom lightbar I am having made.
So, here are my questions. What gauge wire should I run off my battery to power these and what size fuse directly after the battery? I plan on splitting the wire and running to (2) relays to power the (2) sets of lights; they each are rated at 55 Watts. The Hellas came with the relays, switches, connectors and wires. Unfortunately they did not label the wire so I have no idea as to what gauge it is. I am assuming it is 16 gauge, is that correct? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Luke |

Thanks man. I have that diagram printed off. Basically from that diagram I am going to combined the wire coming off the battery and then split after the fuse to the two relays. I think I am going to go with a 30 Amp fuse as that is twice the one shown and go with the appropriate gauge wire from the battery. Appreciate the help. Luke |
Re: Wiring Off Road Lights
Remember that by going with a 30amp fuse instead of a 15amp fuse you are taking away some of the protection that the fuses offer your lights. Better to blow a fuse than a light.

Re: Wiring Off Road Lights
Understood. I wired them up a couple weekends ago. Went with one 30 amp fuse, 2 relays, four lights and 1 switch. Works great.
