For a certain reason I need to disable the mileometer on my hummer h2 while I drive it from the port to be tested as a new vehicle import as I need to keep the mileage below 350. Is this easy to do. Does it run off the gearbox or can I take a fuse out.

Yes this is very easy to do. All you have to do is order a new dash cluster for your H2 and then take the stock one out, but all the miles on the truck you want to and then reinstall the stock dash cluster. You will then have the original miles on the vehicle and only the tech will be able to tell if they ever check the computer. Should cost you about $379 for the cluster, you should check out ebay or something like that. Good luck.

How about this. Mount a mirror at a 45 D angle above the odometer and then it would at least read backwards.

Yes! Driving backwards will work!!! I know that for a fact because that's what they do in Canada. It was Dennis who told me...so it must be true

I'm a little confused though and thought that maybe some of you experts out there can clear up a technical question for me...Is the mileometer that little doohickey thingamajig that's on our dash where the rev-o-meter and speed-o-meter are located? And if I'm not mistaken, I think that our H2's are also equipped with a temp-o-meter too? But the part that's really confusing me is where our odometer is located...does anybody know???

Well my gas-o-meter must be broke cause it always seems to read empty.
