Absolutely nothing. BUT, he did not say he replaced ONLY the fronts. He said he only had squealing from the the fronts. So to cover all the bases, it is still a valid statement.

All brake pads must be bedded-in with the rotor they will be used against to maximize brake performance. The bedding-in process involves a gradual build up of heat in the rotors and pad compound....

I found this in another thread so it seems feasible. I think you would have to be careful not to mess up the rails but should work none the less.
