Could someone please explain to me how I am supposed to phrase my complaint to my service dept about the creaking windshield? noise at 80 mph. My 03 had it a little, I figured it was a bug that GM was working on. My 05 had it severely, to the point that you had to check if all the windows were up if you hit 70. When I had it in for service 3X I was told this every time...1) We aren't allowed to test drive that fast. When I replied that I would drive, send a tech with me, I was told their techs don't have the time to chase wind noises in a Hummer! OK so the very noisy 05 goes down the pike and welcoming an 06 which was nicely quiet until 1000 mi and guess what's back. Anyone have any tips to tell the service so I can enjoy this truck? My S2000 is quieter with the roof down and the tach at 8000. Thank in advance, and please don't tell me to slow down, I'll think my wife is on here!

Had the same thing on mine. The trim piece around the windshield was what was making the noise. They put some kind of sealant (looked like silicone) around the trim piece and the noise stopped.

Same thing here. I just picked it up today after having them seal it. Noise gone.

Your answer is here.

If you don't want to take it to the service dept, remove the plastic along the A-pillar and put a strip of thin double sided insulation tape along the edge of the plastic. Reinstall.

Humm This said to throw a big rock at the windshield and have insurance replace it. The replacement guys always to do a better job sealing a windshield.

Thanks for the tip, Hummm This.

I can't believe your dealership feels the need to drive the vehicle to reproduce the noise. It is a common problem with H2's. I mentioned the buzzing windshield when I went in for an oil change, they acknowledged the problem as being common and they fixed it during the oil change.
