To get out spots that were etched into my windows I used "Bar Keepers Friend" which comes in a gold can that looks just like Comet. My windows never looked better. I also used it on my chrome wheels and have never had anything that worked better on them. I originally bought it to clean my stainless steel grill and it looked new after I was done. Seems to work great on all kinds of things but don't know exactly how harsh it is. Check it out but use your own discretion
