I see all this poser/yuppy accessory bull**** on this forum and quite frankly it is really turning my stomach. Did anyone buy an H3 to Actually Offroad 4x4 other than me? Incredible amounts of talk about Bling and gas cap doors that sell for $200.00 and the vanity tags in the door jams (that alone is gay to begin with) I believe in keeping my Truck Clean looking and capable for what ever I intend to do with it. I am not tryng to offend anyone but Jesus, I bought mine to wheel after all they are more capable offroad than they are at the lowrider tuner shows. I have already done more in common area's local to where I live which most of these posers would cring to take their MAll crawling soccer mom looking poser wanna be H3's will ever do. You should try the vehicle offroad they perform great. That said I speak out therefore I am. BTW they are TRUCKS, I hate reading these threads where people are referring to them as cars. I am sure the other 10% of the true offroad folks on the forum will agree.

Look at the Jeep market - it is the same thing. People buy the H3 for highway use, off road use, or both...plain and simple.
Not too much you can do about it. I have seen people buy pick-up trucks that never put a thing in the bed.
I would not lose sleep over it.

I am not into bling but I have never been into off road either. Now that I have that option maybe I will start, who knows. Who cares?
I bought my H3 because I liked the looks, quality, and size. Mainly because after looking at the other trucks in this category, it was the one I wanted.
Does owning an H3 automatically suggest that I am trying to pose as an avid off-roader? I don't think so. It does give me the ability to try off-roading. If I choose to.

Believe me I truly believe in "Do whatever every makes you happy" I just felt the need to purge. Like I mentioned I'm an avid four wheeler and really thought the majority of the people who were purchasing the H3 were buying them for their offroad capability rather than it serving as a status symbol. Then again my opinion shouldn't offend anyone unless it describes them.

Kinda funny to read your post. As my son and I were returning from the mall in my new H3, we were passed by a redneck in a lifted 4X4 covered with mud. My son asked about it and I told him that's what people who can't afford cable tv or golf lessons do for fun.
Luckily the guy missed the H3 when he spit his chew out the window, otherwise I would have had to have the valet take it to the carwash while my wife and I were at the wine tasting.
I did notice some of the beer cans bounced out of the back when he hit the curb on a turn, but I didn't see a splash so I'm sure he emptied them first. I think he must have been in a hurry to get home and watch the NASCAR race.
But, as you said, my opinion shouldn't offend anyone unless it describes them.

You'll find that there are a huge majority who purchase the Hummer brand for mostly either name or looks.
For those who wheel, it's a small percentage of the actual total population out there. But those who wheel their Hummers in Arizona really do a lot of different trails - when we don't have Forest Fires or flooding...

While we havev an SUT and an H3 is our houshold (both see the trails) I see HUMMERS every day that will never see wet grass. Driving a HUMMER offroad or not is fun in my opinion. Many of the HUMMER owners that have not off roaded before, may not tknow wherre to go or how to do it. Some are afraid to ding their vehicles or ruin their 30K to 70K rig. I always offer to asking HUMMER owners to join our group to learn and have fun. That's how I started.

Here ye Here ye! I have been now been offended! I actually like my gay door jam tags!!
And who's to say that I can't go offroading. This hummer will see more winter, slush, ice, sleet, and salt ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE CITY - that is 100x more abusive on it - than most so called off roading or mudding most of the other so-called "posers" intend on doing.
No offense, but if a vehicle survives a Canadian Winter it is doing more than its job.

Locking gas cap and fuel door isn't a bad "bling" request at all.
Thanks for being a dick and lumping people into a category that most people here don't fall under.
I'm glad you have an H3. I'm glad you off-road. Just back away from the soap box would ya?

I bought mine pretty much based on aesthetics.
I don’t do much wheeling (not to much wheeling to do on Long Island anyway) except for a few beach runs.
To be honest the idea of driving through mud or over rocks really doesn’t thrill me, (and I purchased the Adventure package) especially with a $36k vehicle. But hey that’s me, to each his own.
Don’t get me wrong I totally hear what your saying, why buy such an off road capable vehicle if you don’t plan on using it that way, different strokes for different folks I guess.
I think you have to remember this is a general H3 forum. This is the place people are supposed to be able to talk/ask/respond to any and all H3 related topics.
I guess if this were an “Off-Road or Wheeling” forum those posts would be out of place.

LOL too funny.
Well it was mentioned and I would have to agree. This is a genereal forum and since there is very few people that plan on actually using their H3's for what they were designed for (Hint: They were tested here in Sedona Az. as well as Moab Ut. not at the mall). Elcova should add an Offroad/Adventure section for the people that wish to discuss such topics. There is so much of our country to see offroad many of which cant be seen from the main hard roads. Like I mentioned in the first post, my rantings shouldnt offend you unless it is describing you.

When I get an H3 I will use it to the max on and off road. The only reason I will be getting one is becauses of it's Off Road features, gearing, locker, skid plates, 33' tires overall size and a 5-speed.
An Off Road/Adventure/Travels section on this forum would be great.
Anyword word from from the guy who was driving up to Alaska/Canada? I think he was on a 2 month road trip...Lucky Guy
I want to see more pictures of them actually being used on 4x4 trips loaded up with roof racks gas cans, highlift jacks etc.
Long range expedition type trips...ALCAN HWY
Moab for a week, Black Rock Desert etc....

There is a very small percentage H1s that find off-road.
There is a very small percentage H2s that find off-road.
Same will probably apply to the H3.
Most will never have the desire to off-road but it should not stop them from buying the vehicle they love.

Posing in an H3 or H2 is not as pathetic as a guy in a business suit with a 100k+ H1 that has never seen gravel. H1 was my first choice but seeing how rediculous my neighbor looked with his Starbucks and tie totally turned me off. That would be embarassing. So bloody happy I bought the H2.

I have this divers watch that i kinda wear everyday (Breitling Seawolf 3000 meters)
First let me say that i'm not a diver (can't even swim!)
A few months ago somebody asked me why do i wear a diver's watch
I just politely reminded him that it also works above the sea level

There sure is a bunch of talk about bling on this side of the forum. Hell, I've got chrome crap on my truck, too. Oh well, atleast the truck sees the dirt. That's why I've got scrapes and bruises on my chrome rims, scratches on the polished stainless brushguard and some very interesting dents on the skid plate other other areas under the truck.
Sheez, blingtard trucks like dirt and mud, too.
