I knew someone who had a cavalier and he was in an accident. The airbags deployed. The air pressure in the car was so strong that it blewout the sunroof and he really felt it in his ears. That's with a vented car.
Just a thought, but you might want to find a solution for the vent, just in case.

Actually its in the Green Supercharged H2 right now. I rotate it around so each of the vehicles can have its turn carrying it.
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">That rear door sure lost some weight.
I noticed the jack/tools are on the cargo space, did you also lost the mounting bracket? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
Yeah, the rear door flys open now. And all the original mounting brackets are still in place. The only modification was to the exterior sheet metal. All interior parts are intact. If I wanted to remount the bracket it would take all of 4 drill holes and would be done.
I say give the H3's four or five years, probably less and we will see how many of the rear doors are sagging like every other GM setup ie) specifically the Jimmy. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>
That looks great! BTW: How much it cost for the work?

ShaunH3,
I was only kidding and that comment wasn't directed at you. It was from that other post.
Just having fun.

Sharkster: That looks really good! However that would take a ridiculous amount of work on top of what I had done already to get it to look like that. But I still think that HUMMER should offer something similar to what either I have done or you have in your picture. Sort of what they did for the H2's. Not everyone likes a huge tire on the back, and would be nice to have an option from the factory.
H3OH: I didn't catch on to you referring to the other post at first read. But it actually is in the back of the Supercharged H2 right now....hehehe
The work cost $800 CND, but the shop said they had to put an additional 8 hours of work on top of what they quoted. So basically the garage said they wouldn't touch another for less than $1200
I will relocate the vent if there is something warranting it. Right now there is no noticable difference. Come winter if there is alot of condensation or cold spots in the truck then the vent will probably go in a wheel well.

I'll bet with the weight of the spare off it, the rear door about throws you to the ground when you open it! LOL!

Hahahahah!
No kidding! I'd like to see a video of it opening now. With the tire, it starts off slow at first, then hauls ass to full open. I can't imagine what that's like now. LOL!
And I'm super slow as I thought the only change from Sharksters posts was the Hummer logo. I Just saw it all flattened with solid indent at bottom.

Yeah, basically just "shave my ****"......hahahaha You might be coming out with more than you asked for if you say that.
All I did was take everything off, and went to a local body shop and had him look at it and quote me on what he could do it for. The quote was very important.....saved me $400.00 of labor!
I will try to get a video of the door opening...it really FLYS open!!

Hey Sharkster, I am planning to do the same modification. I was planning to get a roof rack and put the spare on top along with shovel and jack.

Looks neat, but that bare rear really needs HUMMER in big bold letters.

Very nice.. I had my H3 for about 2 hours and off came my spare. Im leaving my mount holes alone so I have the option to put back on for trips. If it wasnt for that reason I would be looking for a body shop too. Again,,,, Very Nice... Heres a pic of mine. You can compare the look of both. Really like yours better..
