Thanks for the quick responses I appreciate it. Yes I agree with both of you, most of my friends love the vehicle as much as I do, but 1 or 2 have made the snide comments. There is a world of diffence between H3 and its distant cousins in the Envoy/Trailblazer/Canyon/Colorado. You cannot even begin to compare the trucks or SUVs to each other. I know they had to re-use the frame which is fine. If I could have been at the GM decision making meetings on H3 I definitely would have gone for a slightly more powerful engine, I think as someone else mentioned, they were using it in the other SUVs and trucks, and already had alot of 3.5s at Shreveport, and they thought the mileage would be slightly better. But if you look at the mileage on that all aluminimum V8 GM is using in the Sierra and Silverado, that would have been the engine to use in my opinion. I believe it has 305 or 310 HP, and it gets about the same mileage as the I5 does. My cousin just got one in a Sierra and its rated for 20-21 highway, and 17-18 city. It would have been a perfect vehicle in my opinion if they had that 300+ hp chunk of aluminum mounted inside the H3. Other than that (and the wiper on rear window) I think the H3 is an awesome vehicle. Thanks again for the info.
