I have started noticing a little improvement over the last 3-4 hundred miles. I have about 2500 miles on it. About 15 years ago I worked on some software improvements with a couple of GM engine control engineers, we basiclly brainstormed and designed a working model that allowed the ECM to learn the drivers habits a make minor adjustments to the timing curve, throttle response and several other settings that are related to perceived power. The only trade off for the ECM slowly learning that you like to have a little better acceleration is a little less fuel economy. As for driving it hard all the time the adjustments would have happened more quickly and would be less noticable. And most engines have limits that prevent damage to occur, so you may not perceive any change at all.
I am not sure if this system ever made it into production or if any part of it did.
I left the company that I worked for at the time to go into software related field.
