Want another thing to mull over about unions? Governments with union workers, Federal, State, City, who when they get a pay raise or the entity is required to deposit X-millions of dollars to a pension plan, do so by raising your taxes.
These unions will be the last ones to come to their senses, since it is so easy for a government to just raise taxes to cover the pay raises, healthcare and pensions of these people.
Let's not forget utility companies controlled by the state as a monopoly. One of the local power companies here in MI, received permission from the state a few months ago, for an increase to pay for their require pension funding.
I often think that in a few years, when I'm living in a tent located in the desert eating snakes and lizards (while waiting for my non-existent GM pension), the only people I will see driving by will be retired civil servants driving around in their Toyotas. What a thought....
