Just cosmetically.. What looks cooler.. The tire attached to the back.. Or the no tire attached to the back. Thanks for your opinion..
<img src=http://66.235.229.53/users/angie/h2/compare.jpg>
I ask because mine is on the outside and I dont want it on outside or the inside either.. So I guess Im just gonna leave it off but I cant decide if I like the look without the tire now thats ive gotten used to it. Im rambling.. But you get the point.
I will tell you this its really annoying to open the back up with this swinging piece of crap there. I like the idea of the gobi rack with the tire mount (roof) but then it wont fit in the garage and our neighborhood has all these gay rules about parking cars inside.

I don't mind either way. I've had both. I only like NOT having it on the back because of convenience reasons....Like you said...

I don't care for where the license plate is. It looks funky. But to answer your questoin it is a matter of preference. If you need the space inside put the tire on a carrier or on the roof.
Homerowners associations there is a reason "ASS" is in there name. "F"ing little bastards. If they want to tell you where you can and can not park tell them they can make your truck payment otherwise shut the F up. I am so glad I don't have them in the neighborhood where I live.

I guess it kind of depends upon if you're looking at the back of an '03-'04 or an '05...

I have an '03 and got it with the inside spare. The 3rd row seat has not been in my truck since I got it home the day I bought it. I definitely think no outside spare is the best and cleanest look. But with an inside spare, I had no room for the vast amount of rescue gear I carry. No spare is not an option in my line of work, so I got the chrome predator. Soon, I will modify it to a license plate holder in the spare (like the '05) just to clean up the look of the bumper.
I'm sure you know the island far better than I. My thinking is no spare is not a big deal there because you are never too far from your spare. But that's a call you need to make. From a strictly aesthetic perspective, I think no spare looks best and a wheel mounted license plate looks second best.

I like the look of the spare on the outside. It really looks good if you have custom wheels with the matching spare.

I'm also thinking about doing the wheel mounted license. Any idea how much an oem license plate holder would be Tower?

Doc,
I'm working on a mod that is very inexpensive and will retrofit any non-'05 carrier so that it will accommodate the center licence plate bracket. It is made of inexpensive plumbing parts, except for the SMA bracket:
http://store.stallioncustoms.com/201-132-30c.html
and the H2 licence plate lamp-housing-socket assembly. I will post details soon but you can PM me if you like.

Have mine on the back and I like the look, but it's a bit of a pain in the ass to constantly be swinging the tire out of the way if you need to get into the back a lot. And you have to remember to swing it WIDE before closing your tail gate.
Best place IMHO and as Fubar said earlier is the roof. But then you'd need to buy a roof rack, and perhaps adjust your garage if you garage it to accomodate the extra height...
I agree also, for the most part Home Owner's Associations are the last refugee of anal beauracratic political wannabe's who can't get elected to local city councils. Again, IMHO.

No spare carrier = cleaner look, that I have to agree but unless you want use a gobi or convert it to store the spare inside(less cargo room) its a downgrade IMO

Ill do the Gobi after I move.. For now it wont fit in this Garage.. I took the spare off and I love it. 'Cept for the holes in my bumper! But for now I just put the spare inside. Dont need the space anyway.
