And the human race is set up to work self interest? Only those of your kind - to play your game, because you are obviously in your own meglomania. But the wealth, thinking and innovation should be about our society as a whole.

Is the universe finite? Well, the fundamental cosmological hypothesis according to which the universe is homogeneous (same everywhere - onthe scale of galaxies) and that hypothesis is likely to be soon falsified experimentally. I can tell you the theories but I assume you were trying to make some sort of remonstrant remark.
