DVDs only work in park for safety; also destinations can't be changed while traveling. Home destination and emergency dest. can be used while traveling. On the backup camera as I mentioned earlier cannot be intergrated with fact. nav. according to the dealer. If someone else finds out different please post it.
thanks

That depends on how crafty you get.
A switch fixes that problem.

You can probobly bypass the park safety. Than you have total access. When you are driving its destracting (not a good idea)but passanger can have access .It would be a pain in the a s s to pull over and look for a resturant or gas.

anyone have any ideas how to bypass the safety to play the DVD. I can deal with not changing destination during travel. I cna pull over and do it in 5 min, but having a DVD player would be cool for my passengers

I know the Hummer Silicon Valley dealership was installing H2 navs in H3's with Hitchcams running on the nav display. I saw one working in November. But you are probably concerned with the factory H3 nav setup.

Correct. Very very very poor design. System works great but was not thought through in the design process IMO.

I have an 04 F-150 with the Eclipse Nav system installed by the dealer. Originally, I would have to stop and depress the emergency brake to have full use of the Nav (data entry). PIMFA! I took it to a different ford dealer and the tech fixed it in 5 mins. He said that a wire that it receives power from was grounded to the emergency brake. All you have to do is ground in to the frame instead. No mention of a switch though. I have no idea how to do this or even if it is accurate info. It's just what he told me. Anyways, I have full access (including watching a DVD) while the truck is moving.
