Alec, what's so drama about it? Yeah I bitched about a brand new truck making a huge mess and having a damn bad oil leak, sure. Are you telling me that you would just brush it off, as if... "oh, no biggie, everything is cool, I got a brand new truck that I can't even drive, but it's cool"
Two fools above called BS on my post for no f-ing reason, so what's up with that?

Looks like too much ArmorAll.
Stop being a drama queen. You sound like that h3lady and her freaky son.
Take it in and they'll fix it. Besides, if it has pressure you're ok.

OK- since you just go this POS and have had it less than THREE days, you can return it! I think that's the rule here in CO anyhow.
QUESTIONS:
HTF did oil get on teh back window?
Looking at your D2 bumper: it looks like armor all or something.
Did you guys drive through something on the way home last night maybe and it just got hung up on the skidplate or something. I'm guessing not if there really is that much oil everywhere.
With all the trolls on this site, I could see something like this being posted here, but I do believe you have an H3 or access to one.
Either way, if there really is that much oil, don't drive it and call your dealer 1st thing in the AM. Remember, it's not the sales guys fault this happened, but get the Sales Manager on the phone and tell him this 24 hour old truck leaks more oil than your D2. .. and that's BS because the HUMMER is way better than that thing... and newer too.

Don't think I could return it, but I'm sure whatever it is, it'll get fixed, so i guess it doesn't matter. Now I'm just pissed about the mess and hassle with repairs... really bad timing. Local dealer is towing it in tomorrow AM.
I'm new to the forum, so I realize all the bitching is pretty annoying, but sh1t, I'm just venting, cut me some slack.
As far as how it got on the back... you got me there. I suppose just the wind turbulence from all highway driving, the sides are clean, so go figure.

if you are blowing that much oil out of a drivetrain component; i would guess by now, something is making a loud noise. could you have driven through something?

FWIW when I blew a coolant hose on my old wrangler the back of the truck was covered with anti-freeze. It was from the draft. looked a lot like your pics.
I still think it is a hole in the oil filter, or it is on too tight/too loose. It will leak if it is too tight or too loose. Have you checked the oil? I would be interested to see if it is too full or down quite a bit. I bet it is not that bad.

First, you're getting the reactions here that you are getting because of the title of this thread and the manner in which you introduced this problem.
A leak on a new vehicle is generally a very minute problem and could have been caused by numerous things. To label the truck a "F-ING PILE" is an afront to other H3 owners. So, as you are asking them to understand why you are disgruntled that you have a problem that happens to every type of vehicle driven off a dealer lot, you need to understand why some are not as receptive to the manner in which you presented your problem here.
Secondly, the oil is getting ripped into small particles while on the highway from the wind. There is a low pressure area at the rear of every vehicle and especially large SUVs. This causes those small droplets of oil to float up and roll back on to the rear of the truck. Same as any road grime.
The point others were trying to help you realize on your own is that you could have come here and told your story in a much better manner and you probably would have received a much better response.
Fstop, I don't know. Since there isn't that much pooling of oil, there might not be all that much oil loss to create some noise yet. I'm sure you know, when oil get's atomized like that, it looks like there is a whole lot more than it really is.

I think Paragon hit it right on the head along with the fact that in your first post you bashed the H2. Sorry to hear you are having problems but if the H3 was an F-ING PILE, then most would be having problems. Overall, the majority have not had any problems with their H3s. It really does suck when you are the one that does have the problem but the dealer will fix it and clean everything up for you. If you have a concern about residual damage then push them to take it back. Just curious, did you take a front license plate off after following the H3 home?

Waiting on a tow truck. You guys are right about my bitching and moaning, sh1tty day yesterday - not my everyday behavior. Anyways, the oil is at half full, that was the first thing I checked.
There was no noise and we haven't driven over anything.
And nope, the license plate has been off for a long time... the spot is textured differently, it's kind of weird.
I'll post an updated once dealer figures out what's up.

A couple things need to be remembered here. When you put together tens of thousands of vehicles, sometimes one will have something that has a part that didn't pop into place right. EVERY car manufacturer has this. A vehicle is more deserving of a p.o.s. title when all of the vehicles have a concern due to a poor design. That is not the case with yours.
Secondly, the dealerships are all paid per vehicle to give them a good look over when they come into the dealership when new. You should be upset with your dealer for not catching something that should have been obvious.
Not only did the tech who should have looked it over new miss it, but the wash guy who cleaned it up, the sales dept. by ignoring oil spots under where it was parked, and probably more people. We can sympathize with the hassle of having a new car break, but your frustrations need to be directed at your dealer.

2-2.5 hrs, but then about 4.5-5.5 hrs worth of driving yesterday. Exactly 400 miles.

What pisses me off the most is people complaining about mechanical problems with their H3 when in fact 99% of these issues are the dealer’s fault.
NorCal_H3 you should be ****ting down your dealer’s throat right now, he/she was suppose to have their mechanics go over your new H3 with a fine tooth comb before you picked it up, checking fluid levels, loose parts from shipping, etc.
Don’t blame Hummer or your H3, blame that incompetent dealer and the moron mechanics that looked over your Hummer if they even did. In fact based on your forum name I am guessing that you live in North Cali, and if so which dealer did you buy your Hummer from? The reason I ask is about 80% of my family lives in North Cali and have been asking me how I luv my Hummer. If a couple of them decide to buy, I don’t want them patronizing your dumbass dealer.
Now look what you did, I dislike dealer's in the first place (except for mine) and you just got me rawled up.....

400 miles and you went through about half your oil...sounds like a small leak. Let us know...it really sounds like the filer either has a hole or is on too tight/loose. Not sure if it would be a hose or hose clamp...I am trying to think if there are any...
On my GMC truck I had a pin hole in my filter...I change my own oil so I saw it right away. The stream of oil was like a small squirt gun hitting the frame rail. My oil pressure looked fine too...I had to go back down with my wife's car and get new oil/filter.

Yup, I'll be talking to the dealer. Trouble is they are couple of hours away, so hopefully the local one won't give me hard time about it.
I couldn't get to the filter - does the skid plate need to be taken off to get access to it??
No need to guess, we'll find out soon enough. Then you guys can gang up on me and flame away when it turns out to be a loose filter.
