I have the Corsa Touring and have not had to deal with the described drone, at any speed.

If the windows are open at hwy speed you'll hear the exhaust system, tire noise and the annoying fuh2 idiots, and of course under acceleration (which sounds very cool) but then if there is any drone it's being covered up by the sounds of the supercharger.
