Default Re: Water leak

I found water under my floorboard on the driver's side. The carpet and padding were wet. Also the side wire "gutter" was filled with water. I thought it was from my marker lights. I took off the cover to the A piller, no water, dry as a bone. I checked the roof liner, no wetness at all. I poured water into the sun roof gutter to see if it came from a cloged drainage line, they all worked fine.

After I dried out the vehicle, I shut the doors, and sprayed water with a plant sprayer on a hose. I sprayed around the lights, the sun roof and door seal. I did this with the a-pillar cover off, the door jam sills off, and the carpet pulled up.

I found that the very top seal above the door was allowing water through. I opened the door directly after spraying the water. This water went from the top seal, into inner seal that surrounds the inside of the door jam. this water leaked into the wire "gutter" next to the drivers seat. It was allowing a large amount of water in. During a heavy storm, it saturated the carpet.

I put clear silicon sealant along the underside of the top seal all the way to the front and back of the door.

Result, no more water in the floorboard.

I will attach photos if anyone needs me to.

Great info, Rat. Haven't heard of a leak there.
