Default Re: Motorized Cooler

That's funny because in today's local paper we had this story:

Sip my ride: A cooler on a scooter

Cruizin Cooler was developed after its inventor noticed thousands of NASCAR fans schlepping coolers around the track.

By LORRAINE EATON, The Virginian-Pilot
? June 7, 2006

Imagine cruising the beach proudly perched atop a motorized cooler. If you deign to offer curious onlookers a sip of something cold, no need to exert yourself by stopping to lift the lid - just reach into the trap-door cup holder and grab a chilly one. "We're lazy," said Rob Lewis , guru of North American sales - yes, that's his actual title - for Cruzin Cooler , based in Houston.
Cruzin Cooler was developed after its inventor noticed thousands of NASCAR fans schlepping coolers around the track. Cruzin Cooler made its debut in August at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota, and sales are booming, Lewis said. After-market accessories are being developed, such as chopper front ends . Lewis tricked out his cruiser with whitewalls.
The coolers, which come in electric or gas models, hold up to 540 pounds, plus a case of cans and 8 pounds of ice . The cost: $349 for the electric model and $449 for gas. Coming in September: four-wheel drive.
