Did anyone here post the info about a Chevy Tahoe being more environmentally friendly than a Prius? Not a joke, it has to do with the environmental and energy costs of making the monster batteries and exotic materials in the Prius and the disposing of them vs. the simplicity of the Tahoe. My guess is that about the same analysis would apply to an H2. If someone wants all the details, I can track them down.

That would be something to cram down the tree hugger's throats.

BTW: Ethanol is a net energy loser -- -- it costs more energy to make ethanol than the substance gives off in combustion. It would never pay in the U.S. without tax subsidies. Therefore, we are paying income taxes to underwrite uneconomic fuel. We have the bull**** "environmental" lobby that has its shoe on the throat of the democratic senators to thank for that fiasco.

http://www.cnwmr.com/nss-folder/automotiveenergy

there is the link to the study that George SSSS posted about.

I just downloaded the big 500k spreadsheet, which is new. the study tracks the energy consumed in the making, designing, using, and disposing of a typical vehicle based on typical life-span and other things. its incredibly thorough in its inclusions - it includes miles driven by engineers, etc.

But i'm not entirely sure what it means. For example, the costs are extremely high in overall dollars, and in dollars per mile, and i don't think this can be directly correlated to oil consumption or whatever. perhaps this is up the alley of one of you folks.

but, yes, the prius's estimated cost/mile is $3.25-$4.08

The H2s is $3.03 to $3.38

those are the low-estimates to the high-estimates.

but before we celebrate too much and publicize this report and its results, know that the jeepers creepers crowd has it way over us hummerdingers - the Wrangler is bone-cheap, at $0.60 to $0.80. that's like the third lowest vehicle on the planet. The H2 is more like 200th.

the comany is CNW marketing research, www.cnwmr.com, if you search for hummer CNW or prius CNW you can find a variety of wild flaming rebuttals of this study, and basically (as usual) nobody with a hummer freaking out about much.

ever notice that? hummer drivers don't often flame anybody, but are often flamed? i'm sure there's a valuable point hidden in that somewhere.

but the svelte sumptious, aromatic interior of a jeep compensates for that.

Use this photo of my truck that made their website. Guess reading was not required where they went to school. You can almost tell that it is a Hummer.

Is that the sorriest face you ever saw? Almost like he is embarrassed to be doing it?

I was seriously thinking about buying an H2 SUT for the last month or 2 now and I was undecided until I found the FUH2 site. I bought a brand new loaded Ford Lariat extra cab last year that only has 4k miles on it and I was feelling guilty about trading it so soon and taking the $$ hit to buy a new vehicle. When I found the FUH2 site my decision was made, I'm getting an H2.

The people supporting the FUH2 site will hide behind the pretense that it is all about the environment yet it is really just a case of class envy IMO. My wife and I are now working 14 hour days to establish our new business and we are doing well. I have no sympathy for these tree-huggers that have enough time in their day to take pictures of themselves flipping off hummers. The gauge on my Ford Lariat says I'm only getting 10.3 MPG. Should I take a picture of myself flipping off my gas-burning Ford in front of the Hummer dealership when I buy my new H2 and send to FUH2? Nah, they would never post it.

They aren't just treehuggers, they are also dominatrixes! Show no sympathy for either.

It's not 100% proven, but with the accusations, and hatred towards something that shows male dominance. It's good enough for me!

I think we should add a section about what the "real" FUH2 is about. I submitted that stretch h2 with the dom logo on it getting flipped off .. but they haven't updated in awhile.

Anyhow, the site needs to start being developed already!

Dei, nice deduction , especially given that there are like 437 other domains hosted on that IP. You sure it's not a conspiracy with the Goths over at gothbaskets.com or maybe Bill Meyer of billmeyersphotography.com has a closet anti-hummer fetish and is really the lone submitter of all the hateful pictures.

Like I said, it's not 100%. But I've read on here that it's the same owner for both sites. The dom is a web designer in one of the most hummer hater regions of the world, and the 2 sites happen to be hosted on the same server. It's good enough for me. And if it's not true, oh well .. it's only slandering a tree hugger that doesn't like you.
