Re: MPG 20 or not
I have been averaging from mid 12s and 13s with mixed (mostly city) driving. My last tank was mid 14s at 4,750 miles and the usual driving. My MPG has slowly and steadily been going up as I near 5K miles.

Re: MPG 20 or not
I'm just over 5k now, and everytime I've filled up since I bought it, it's been around 16mpg*. This is almost all city and I still drive like it's a race car! Just the other day I took a 250 mile trip, stayed right around 90mph for most of it, and it came up to around 17 mpg*.

Re: MPG 20 or not
Quite possibly, and it's not like downtown with stop lights set to turn red when you get near them on every block. There is a lot of cruising at moderate speeds but it's still considered city!

Re: MPG 20 or not
Yes, I'd say about 200 miles of the trip was in the high 80s, just touching 90. The rest was 60-80. I was still getting passed too, it's crazy in that area, with my last car 100mph was normal. I took it easy on the h3, but there was really no difference between going 60 and 90, all felt the same.

RYD - I was counting on you not believing, took you long enough BTW. You see, I was hoping to get you to come up here to help me move under the cover that you would be my MPG Monitor Patrol. So, now that it's out there, how 'bout it?

Re: MPG 20 or not
With the Toyo 33" tires, I have been averaging about 15 on the highway with an automatic. Mine just went over 7,000 this weekend.
I have given up on mpg for now, but love my tire look

Re: MPG 20 or not
My experience confirms what everybody else is saying. I have just over 8k miles and average 14-15 mpg, although there have been tanks that I have made over 16 mpg. I assume that I would get better mileage if I had a longer commute to work, but I will take that mileage over a long daily commute!!!

Re: MPG 20 or not
Yeah, when you start going 75 and over it uses more gas. It's the big hole it leaves in the air.

Re: MPG 20 or not
Maybe I?m anal but I have tracked my fuel usage from the beginning. I now have 21k miles, live in Phoenix so the A/C is on all the time, four wheel frequently, drive 5 to 10 over the limit, have 35? tires and it?s an automatic..
Min 8.07 mpg (four wheeling in Colorado).
Max 20.07 mpg (on the way back from Colorado)
Average for 21k miles 15.06mpg.

Re: MPG 20 or not
well it depends where you are from. America doesn't have the highest grade of gas. Yes people from Mexico may have terrible gas, Canadians have the top in North America. If you fill up with some Canadian gas, you'll probably get over 20mpg.

I live in Utah, Use 85 octane, drive 30 miles one way to work on the highway. I consistantly get 19.6 MPG.

Re: MPG 20 or not
Last weekend we drove from the LA area to Sedona AZ and got 17.9 mpg averaging 65+ mph with the a/c on. That's for an automatic with 5000 mi., Adventure pkg, brush guard, roof bars and std tire pressure on a route with a lot of long grades.
Based on that I think I could get really close to 20mpg if I turned off the a/c, upped the tire pressure and drove with max economy in mind; maybe even more.

Driving across the desert when it's 110 with the AC off, to save gas. I wouldn't do that.

Re: MPG 20 or not
21 mpg doing 45-55 mph.
16 mpg at 65
15 mpg at 75
12-14 around town, short trips during the week.
This is with a loaded AT Luxury.
Realize that ethanol has a lot less btu/gallon than gasoline, and a 10% blend will drop your mileage 1-2 mpg.
Do not use E85 of course in a 2006. I don't know about the 2007s yet.
