This couple got out of a full size Chevy truck at the races the other day. where standing by my 3 enjoying some Gold & Cold before the race.. they walk by and the gal says something about Hummer gas hog or something like that. Grrrr,, I says Excuse me,, How many MPG does that truck you have get ?? She say , about 12 I think,, When I told her mine and explaned it was a 3 not a 1 Hummer,, shes like OH, the whole time her ole man is ogleing my 3 . He probably ended up at the dealer. LOT of mis informed peeps out there. Oh by the way I saw her later in the races,, Shes drunker than F##k and making a total fool of her self.. I was bustin up.

Re: Maine Is Not Hummer Friendly
It just shows how uneducated these people are. Do they yell at the all the other SUV's and pickups that get the same mileage? Down here in AZ that happened when the H3 first came out but there are a lot of Hummers here.
Plus they let everyone carry guns.

Re: Maine Is Not Hummer Friendly
While in Las Vegas, someone wrote a whole litany on a ripped up scrap of paper, placed it under my windshield wiper, saying that my H2 takes so much fuel and I should be ashamed. They must have said H2 10 times on that scrap of paper ... and here was my truck, an H3!!! They didn't even know what type of Hummer it was. Hummer's just get a bad rap regarding fuel.... the Escalade I was given as a loaner took waaaaay more gas than my H3. There are narrow minded people everywheres you go, unfortunately.

Re: Maine Is Not Hummer Friendly
Hummer haters all have their own reasons. My father-in-law is a retired oil VP. He hates liberals and doesn't give a sh*t about the gas mileage. But he still hates hummers because they're a "status symbol".
But get this ... he owns 2, million dollar houses (for winter and summer), a condo in the mountains, and a big old cadillac. He eats at only the best restaurants and buys his wife expensive jewelry. I guess he likes his status symbols after all.
It's gonna really piss him off when I drive up in my new H3 this fall, lol

Re: Maine Is Not Hummer Friendly
Not seeing the hate here in Silicon Valley (northern Cal), but people are often highly educated here. They know the H3 to some extent is somewhat of a concession to environmentalists (dare I say which will rile up some) with its more practical compact size and somewhat economical engine.

Re: Maine Is Not Hummer Friendly
Just respond with, "And what off-road vehicle should I have bought?"
Either they aren't going to respond, or they will say something like a Jeep, to which you just reply, "Excuse me? The Jeep Rubicon gets a mile per gallon worse mileage than my Hummer H3. Let me know when you can give me an informed response."
That should shut them up.

Re: Maine Is Not Hummer Friendly
I've traveled to Maine many times as a kid and just got back from a trip to Mass., Vermont and CT. Part of the tour given to me by my sister was a trip to see the Hippies. Went to Northhampton and had a hole in my lip from bitting it by the time we left.
I saw living proof that inbreading is still alive and well.
I also noticed people up there like to wave with their middle finger up. So I waved back in kind. As they do in Rome so to speak.
I'm learning liberal is just another term for mean, nasty and ignorant. Oh yeah I was driving a loaner Ford explorer. I would have rented a H3 but none were available. It would have been more fun... I would have had more of those friendly waves.
How about a spare tire cover that says "I get 20 MPG! How much do you get?)

Re: Maine Is Not Hummer Friendly
Another thing I noticed. My sister had to drive at least 20 minutes one way to get to a store. How can these liberals say they're saving gas if they have to drive so far to get anywhere?

Re: Maine Is Not Hummer Friendly
Just remember that people pick on other people to make themselves feel better about their own shortcomings.
Do they drive a hybrid?
Is their house larger then it needs to be?
Do they waste electricity (lights on, multiple TV's?)
Do they use airconditioning?
Do they have solar panels?
Do they keep their het down to 65 in the winter?
Do they drive on roads which use oil?
Do they use paint?
Do they check the air pressure in their tires weekly? (Huge gas savings, not to mention oil used in tires for premature replacement)
The list goes on and on and on, I could go forever where oil is used.
Or do they drive a rusty old Toyota Corolla because thats all they can afford?
Everyones a hypocrite nowadays.
