I have the 17inch Detata brand chrome wheels I bought and installed from the dealer. When I'm backing up and turning the wheel, everytime there is a moderately loud crackling noise from the front wheels. Sounds like the plastic center cup is breaking. Any ideas?
People think the front wheels are coming off when I leave the stores

I had a Tahoe with a similar problem. It WAS a loose center cap. I found if I twisted the cap it would lock in a different position. Invariably it would loosen, of course, but a simple twist would stop it for awhile.

Good luck.

I'M ASSUMING YOUR WHEELS AND TIRES ARE BIGGER
THAN THE STOCK ONES. WHEN YOU BACK UP AND TURN, YOUR TIRES ARE CATCHING THE EDGE OF YOUR WHEEL WELL LINER, MAKING THAT NOISE. YOU NEED TO TRIM YOUR WHEEL WELL LINER HOW EVER MUCH NEEDED SO YOU HAVE PROPER CLEARANCE. THE PEOPLE WHO PUT ON THE WHEELS SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT.
