Re: New head unit
adam, were you able to retain the factory onstar, chimes, bose amp/speakers and steering wheel operations thru the eclipse? if so, did you use pac audio interfaces? i noticed crutchfield has tha radio on sale right now for $1399...is that a good price? was it difficult to install? i have been looking for a all in one unit(dvd, navi, camera).

Scott, unless you're going to do the install yourself check with the audio store you're planning on getting the work done at before you purchase the head unit threw another place. Many of the shops here in town make their profits from the sale of the head unit not from the labor of installing it.
Crutchfield does have nice pricing however you're looking at $2,400.00 for the unit with the hard drive (AVN5495) not $1400.00

Re: New head unit
i was looking at the eclipse avn5435 for $1399 plus the camera($240) and sirrus($100). this is the one w/o the hard drive. i just got off the ph with jp customs...they can get me the pac units for the chime, bose, onstar and steering wheel for ~$250 and blue tooth for ~$150. i plan on doing the install myself. he said it will take about a full day to do the whole install. the only thing i want to add in the future would be the headrest monitors which the eclipse has a output on it for monitors.

There is a way to keep it all but I didn't care for it. I don't use OnStar. They did use the Bose amp and speakers and it has a slightly better sound quality that it did.

Re: New head unit
I got the AVN 6600 installed in mine too. It is VERY VERY cool. I tried to keep the factory bose speakers, just put an amp on it, but it sounded real "tinny". I replaced them with Memphis Car Audio 6.5 components and the sound quality is amazing.
How much did you pay for the backup camera and where did you get it from? That I don't have.
