Re: H3 and Snow?
Hello Alaska ........I've got 2 of them if that tells you anything.
It rules in the snow, and I've yet to drive any vehicle except a hummer that didn't feel sketchy on the snow/ice.
Otherwise with 1/2 ton 4x4 trucks it's put them in high lock in October, and take them out in April. (no joke)

I am in an '07 GMC 2500 Yukon XL right now.
I did interview for an H4 panel/test crew a couple of weeks ago tho
I am trying to get on a "Hot Trip" out of the Arizona Proving Grounds.
If so I am going to drive down with a trailer and pick up a Baja Bug

Re: H3 and Snow?
you should do better than the taco with the H3 in snow. Weight and clearance (unless your taco was lifted, forget about the typically super-optimistic clearance specs published by 'yota) are better on a stock H3 than a stock taco.
in my experience tires and clearance play a role, but shear weight plays the dominant role. hence a big 3/4 ton pickup with extra weight in the box can be a very formidable snow truck, even though it isn't generally a great offroading vehicle.
