Upper middle class, Ha that is a ****in riot. Do you have any idea how many papers you would have to deliver on your route to be pushed into the upper middle class? Your 88 honda **** box couldn't hold that many papers.

God, even if my 8-year old said something like that, I'd tell him to grow up.

Of course, he knows lots of gay people; many are friends and colleques of mine. Even my little boy questioned why others might have problems with gay people.

I explaind the word "homophobe" to him. Just to remind you, that means "fear of homosexuals, and fear of being a homosexual yourself." I explained that some people feel so bad about some of their own desires, that they find comfort in making fun of others who are more grown up and can accept what they are.

"Dirty Fun", I'm going to ignore you from now on. I've had enough of easy targets.

Hi,

Some people told me, buy an X5, a Cayenne for that price...They should have a real 4x4 spirit before they comment.. In Lebanon the H2 is for 105,000 US$... and we pay 4$ per gallon.

Some other people said, it's very ugly, so i replied to them, We just Civilized the Beast...

Bain of your own existence: My only comment in response to your original post is: what does it say about the collective intelligence (or more accurately the lack of intelligence) of folks on 145 pages of photos flipping off an inanimate object? Now, if they were flipping off the actual drivers of the H2's TO THEIR FACES, your posting here might make more sense. But, of course, that would never happen, would it? Safely hidden in your POS you can show how politically correct you think you are (by photographing it, no less!) without suffering the consequences of actually standing up for your beliefs, face to face with the supposed "offender". It's back to one of my main beliefs about the general culture of our country these days where folks seem to think: "If I don't agree with it, it's wrong"... end of story.

God damn it!!! You're cutting into my XBox Live time now. I keep waiting & watching for your pitiful posts like I was sitting at a deadly intersection waiting for another accident.

And I'm curios- how did you convince your "spouse" to "marry" you? Did you promise him/her all the salt licks and chewing tobacco he/she could ever hope for? Or did you promise to never let the kids at the petting zoo poke him/her in the 'nads?

Well, to cut to the chase, I don't know jack about SUVs. I couldn't tell a Durango from a Dingo.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Challenge: find me a vehicle that meets YOUR approval and the following criteria (and gets good gas mileage, according to your standards) and I will be happy to look into it - seriously: <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

You win that one, I guess. But my point is that when you add this criterion, the only way to make it work is to change priorites:

1. Is envronmentally friendly: Gets at least 25mpg, and has the same emission rating as current PCs (passenger cars).

Obviously right now there is no such vehicle. So if I were in your situation, I would have to adjust my priorites, and to me the envronmental concerns are higher. And in that case I would just be SOL and asking myself, "why did I get two humongous dogs without thinking about how to transport them?" But your priorities are apparently different.

Maybe, you would like a perfectly comfortable life for yourself first. I would like rather a better world for my and your kids, where they're free of dependence on foreign oil (and the wars over it), free to walk and bike and drive the streets safely without the constant threat of humungous vehicles all around them, and of course free to breath clean air.

I have a feeling you're really not as selfish as all that, but that you didn't factor in your other priorites when you chose your SUV.

But By taking steps like increasing average milage to 25-30 mpg, we could save close to the amount of oil we export from the Persian Gulf.

More info:

http://www.hybridcars.com/oil.html

The reason cars like this don't yet exist is because not enough people are demanding them. Instead, they buy the exact opposite and the car companies will make whatever will sell.

Fortunately, it looks like at least Hummer sales are dropping, a signal that people are catching on. Hybrid SUVs look good too...

Also, lest you think I'm being too harsh by suggesting you sacrifice keeping dogs, I wonder what some of you might think at seeing a wellfare mother of 7 asking for more "handouts".

Right, we should all mind our own business.

Still, this is the only defense I've heard (also from sfox above), that you guys just don't care about what people think and that you have the right to drive whatever you want. And I'll agree to both the points.

But tell me why Hummers, and other city-driven SUVs aren't wasteful of limited resources, namely the fossil fuel over which we're fighting a war and losing soldiers?

What is your answer other than "just shut the **** up you jealous moron"? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
You are correct in stating that the supply of oil and gasoline derived from fossil fuels is being depleted, however you really need to start reading the news and recognize that ethanol derived from corn and biodiesel and biogasoline derived from waste vegetable oil, animal and plant byproducts is making a huge push to replace them. So I wouldn't worry too much about replacing our depleting fossil fuels. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yes, good point. I'm well aware of the existance of alternative fuels, yet I wouldn't call it quite a "push". Considering that we're asking to convert on such a large scale, government research and funding is scant (and I wonder why?)

I think this is a really, really encouraging report, though, if you haven't seen it:

<A HREF="http://www.unh.edu/p2/biodiesel/article_alge.html" TARGET=_blank>www.unh.edu/p2/biodiesel/article_alge.html*
</A>

Nevertheless, even if we were able to convert completely, it'd still be wrong to waste.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>
With regards to our troops dying over Iraqi oil. You would have to believe that we went to war over oil as opposed to trying to remove a dictator and liberate a country. That's actually your opinion and you would have to take that up with W... <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yes, you're right. Unfortunately with the lies and maneuvering dubya's done over the war, no one can ever be sure why the hell we went. The facts to me, however, point to oil and the oil economy. There are a few good links at my site, if you're willing:

B I N G O!!!!(was his name-o)
The reason the wackos and malcontents don't go after any of the other rigs is because it would take brain power(and we know they're seriously deficient in that area) to actually do the research to find out how many vehicles suck down gas faster than the H2. And there's plenty of them out there. But the real reason, and it's something I've been saying since they started this crap, is that the H2 is the most easily recognizable vehicle on the road. Why would they want to actually get their facts straight and present a valid argument when all they have to do is run on misguided emotion and disinformation? ****, the Kerry/Edwards campaign did it- why can't they?

I have had one negative action. I was at a Jermaine Taylor boxing match in Little Rock last weekend so I attribute all the reactions from the adreniline flowing except it was a 17 or 18 year old girl. As i backed up to get in line to drive out Her feller ran up behind me and blocked Me at which she stuck her tongue out and gave me the bird salute.. I squared around and ran up beside warned them that if it had been a real redneck i would have just backed up and pushed you over on your top. She says I don't care those are just to much money for their to be hungry people, I replied Jesus said the poor we will have with us always and that those that do not work do not eat. I said well I started with nothing and I'm a God made man not doing without anything so there is a way to move up the ladder and this H2 cost would by 5 to 6 of yours. Again she said well I do not care. I replied well maybe you do not but my 2 daughters are very greatful that their dad gets them good cars and buy thier gas so and would not trade places with you for anything, now tell me you really think i'm stupid enough to believe you would not jump on that deal if your Dad could do it for You. She sticks her tongue out so i respond by rubbing it in, so i tell her well my girls get to pick what they drive and by the looks of yours your jellous and it does not become you. I took off runnning up beside of 5 cars to exit having to jump ditchs and very tall curbs where no onelse could go. I sat outside gate and when they came up she looked down sheepishly and said that is really neat. I told her when you get done with enjoyng being a kid which you should enjoy, you to can get serious about what you want and earn you one.
She says sorry where i replied thank You. She said it is a very pretty truck. I guess we have to let people know we are not going to back down for being able to put in the work time and effort to have H2's if that is what we choose to spend our money on.
Well Thank You for the use of The Soapbox.
Rick

Arnie: In case it hasn't occurred to you after 150+ posts on this thread, you have not managed to change anyone's mind about owning an H2 in this forum. Are you surprised? So tell us again why you bothered to post something on this site in the first place. You didn't have a chance from the start and yet you posted anyway. I'd be willing to bet this isn't the first forum on which you have decided to impart your wordy "wisdom" to try and dissuade other groups from their evil ways. Perhaps you should focus on things that you enjoy rather than on things you hate. It makes getting up every morning a lot easier.

What I really hate is liberals spewing their belief that America is fighting the war in Iraq for fuel. That is absolutely ridculous. I have fought for freedom as a US Marine and am ofended by your remarks. I am now employed in a position that affords me information about the war in Iraq that disproves the conjecture of "blood for oil". What an idiot you are to believe everything thing some liberal nut tells you on TV or at your tree-hugging parties in the woods.

I purchased my H2 with plenty of forethought as to its impact on my family, my budget, and the environment in which I live. I am married with three kids and live in the mountains of New Mexico. I purchased a used H2 because it was LESS EXPENSIVE than other new vehicles that gave the same performance and which I actually liked. It carries my entire family through the snow and mud and protects them from the people on the road who drive like idiots.

As far as the gas mileage goes, I really only drive about 5000 miles a year and I often ride my mountain bike to work. Over a 5 year period my H2 will burn roughly 2080 gallons (12 mpg) while other vehicles that would fit my situation would burn about 1660. Saving a little over 400 gallons of gas over 5 years. Big Deal.

Why does it bother me that some morons like your self hate Hummers? Because I like my vehicle, I take care of it, pay for it, and because some people have some misguided opinions about it, they go out of their way to vandalize my property or harrass me or my family.

Does that answer you moronic question? Hope so.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I Forgot a couple of things. I used to drive a large pickup that got worse gas mileage but was able to haul stuff all over the country. We used to have a little Honda civic that got great gas mileage until some idiot in a little blazer ran a stop sign in front of my wife, son and step mother totalling the civic and nearly killing my family. I decided we will never drive something small again.

man, the H2's are **** loads of fun. but i also like the H1's. either way, they are all american and we are helping support american workers, instead of those other people who try to save gas by driving those tiny little cars that would be crushed by the supior size of any hummer!

I get
"Thats an overglorified tahoe"
"Thats just a tahoe chassis under a square box"
"What gas mileage does that get?" followed by how many gallons does it hold
"Can I drive it please please please"
