So what would you have everyone drive? What should we wear? What should we eat? What type of employment should we seek? Religion? Favorite color?
Well?

And you forget to mention that they don't stay on trails, they run over federally protected wilderness and small creatures on the endangered species list.

I hope this winds up being as amusing as the 4X4fan thread was.

Right, we should all mind our own business.

Still, this is the only defense I've heard (also from sfox above), that you guys just don't care about what people think and that you have the right to drive whatever you want. And I'll agree to both the points.

But tell me why Hummers, and other city-driven SUVs aren't wasteful of limited resources, namely the fossil fuel over which we're fighting a war and losing soldiers?

These are shared resources. Just because you can buy all you want of them doesn't mean that's responsible, does it?

What is your answer other than "just shut the **** up you jealous moron"?

LOL!! Arny, watching you take on both Paragon and Drty is freakin hilarious!! It's like watching one of those teacup poodles barking its head off -- lots and lots of noise, mildly irritating, completely harmless, and often amusing!!

But boy, talk about wasting resources! All that blah, blah, blah, yap, yap, yap... just to target a small percentage of Hummer owners, who are a small percentage of SUVs owners, who are a small percentage of all the gas-guzzling, polutant producing transportation vehicles out there... the waste just keeps goin 'n goin 'n goin...

Oh, don't even touch the military subject. You ask ANY soldier if they're fighting a gas war and they will tell you completely differently. I know too many who have bought mammoth SUVs with their hazard pay. Obviously, if buying more gas was causing their deployments and fellow soldiers to die, wouldn't there be more sales of hybrids? This is a subject you best leave alone. Bash the truck if you don't want one, I could care less, but leave our military out of it.

A 1988 Honda? Not even an American car. A Jap piece of ****? And an old one at that! What kind of commie are you? That import dumps out more toxins’s than new H2 does. Why not by a Saturn or something more eco-acceptable? Now why don't you tell me what you do for our wonderful world and how many people you employ and provide a living for? Or should I assume that our country provides for your feeble existence?

Steve, your ebonics translation is a little weak, still letting your true cracker self shine through. May I suggest the latest in ebonics translation technology:

My bad comments have come from friends only. Strangers are polite and always have nice things to say or ask.

Some of my supposed good friends, say things like:

"How do you like your Chev 1500 pickup (referring to the frame"

"For 50K I would expect" (something they feel should've been in or on the Hummer)

"I would buy a Tahoe and a car for that"

Things like this are what I hear and this is from some friends. Of course, my true friends treat me with respect and joke with me about everthing including the Hummer.

The rest I forget.

As for Steve's post.......I agree with him. When someone makes that kind of statement to me I simply say "NO ONE EVER ASKED ME FOR A REFUND?? as I start to unbutton my 501 jeans.....

The funniest thing is, the person we figured to be the most enviro-freako person in our co-op looooooved the H2. She shops at whole foods and eats soy whip. I ran into her yesterday for the first time since we got ours and was expecting to get lambasted, but instead, she said, "Your new truck is reeeaallly cooool." And went on and on for a long time about the H2. Talk about throwing me for a loop. Even in NYC, we haven't gotten anything but positives, except for the loser in the Maxima on Long Island that gave us the finger.

US Weekly has an article stating that Arnold drives his new H2 around when he goes out with his kids. Tell it to his face that it's not worthy of a family car.

Nice to see my thread living on over TWO YEARS later!

Only one finger here so far, and I followed the guy around town for 15 minutes at 6am until he did some crazy shoot into traffic move to ditch me.
