When I fixed mine they were both broken. On e ditch took out both sides, I had previously only broken the driver side. The connector rod is held in place by a rubber gromet with a hard plastic pin in the center. I cut of the hard plastic pin flush with the rubber gromet. Moved the connecting rod to the inside of the sensor and drilled a small hole down the center. I did this in the field, with the truck rear end raised as high as it will go. You can still adjust the height by moving the sensor level manually. I then inserted a # 6 sheet metal screw through the sensor arm and into the rubber gromet. I did this 6 months ago so its all a little foggy. No problems since the repair. Good luck I'll try to get some pics. and post.
