I called them when shopping for my H2.
Salesman told me that I would take an additional hit on my 02 Avalanche trade in because it had 20" wheels on it.

That salesperson was right. We cannot sell aftermarket wheels and tires (or lifts or superchargers) on any of our new or used vehicles, so we have to figure in the cost of getting trade-ins back to factory specifications in order to sell it on our lot. There are huge liability risks with putting on aftermarket stuff like that that messes with the inherent design of the vehicle, and we are a private company, don't want to lose everything because someone wanted some 24" Pimpstar wheels.

As far as the Line-X goes, we did 30 pieces in total. We had it on the white H3 that nobody liked, so we disassembled that one (me personally for most of it) and moved all of the parts over to the boulder gray one. It's the price of doing the little pieces that jacked it all up to where it is. The hood vent is done, for the record. We also got the topcoat protection so it will clean easier and stay shinier. All that said, it's been here for too long, we will absolutely drop our pants on that one at this point, and the Zebra.

When doing all of this crazy stuff, you don't know how people will respond, so you just have to try it and see what happens. We've sold 4 pink Hummers in the past 8 months, none of them sat on our lot for more than a week, while you have good looking Slate Blue SUT monotones that sit here forever. You just never know what's going to sell, so we try, live, learn, and move on.

Just in case any of you are wondering, I'm the Accessories Manager at Sewell Hummer in Plano, TX (about 15 miles north of Hummer Guy, who is my counterpart in Dallas). All I do all day is play around with Hummer Accessories and dream up crazy and fun paint schemes, if any of you are ever in the area, be sure to stop by and ask for me (MODERATOR: I WILL NOT TRY TO SELL THEM ANYTHING, I JUST WANT TO SAY HI AND SHOW THEM AROUND). Also, let me know if you have any ideas for a custom paint scheme or theme truck, I'm always looking for what's next.

I loved the Camo SUT that was at the Lemmon Ave. Grand opening! If I hadn't had a new one of my own, I would've tryed to talk you down on the price of that one. I think that it gets peoples attention. They may not buy that one, but they will still probably by one. Sewell has a great reputation and the customers all seam to be loyal. I don't think that you could call that a mistake.

Personally I think it looks terrible, Id never buy something that looked like that, it might look ok on a black vehicle but to me it just seems like it would always look dirty, and does it fade in time? If so it will look like most black plastic parts do on vehicles after a few years of collecting car wash soap and wax. Theres someone out there though that cant wait to get their hands on it. Might just be easier if they line-X the whole body and just cut out port holes for windows.
