no, I don't think so. I posted a picture I thought here before let me see if I can find what I am talking about.

This is closer to what I was thinking. Higher up and over to the side so you still have visibility out the middle. But instead have a brace angling up from the angled brace going up to hold the tire. and have a vertical brace directly under the gas can carrier. I think you could only get one on the driver's side because the rear won't open if it's on the pass. side.
