Default Re: news on the cracking plasitc trim

Got mine replaced today. Seems to fit a lot better at the top joint. The windshield trim still fits kind of "off" but it is fine.

They also replaced the Jack. From the invoice. "GM is making available a redesigned vehicle jack for certain H3's. This new Jack has been designed to increase Jack durability in the evne tof repeated use under cetain conditions."

All work was covered under warranty as was the rental. They gave me a 2007 Black on Black H3. Base package, I am glad I got the Lux for ourselves. I like the adjustable seats, leather, and everything else. Driving an Automatic was kind of wierd at first too...... kept hitting the ghost clutch.

Medved Service mentioned that they did not know about the new part being available until I clued them in. However Derek did take care of me, I really don't have any complaints about this visit. Still some grime stain on the headliner from a previous visit, (fingerprint marks) I forgot to tell them until they end of the day and they said they would take care of next time, , ....I had to go.

we are replacing them on the lot before they are sold. trying to catch em all, but a couple have made it past. parts are easy to get, even easier if you contact the parts department..they will order them and then they should set the service appointment when the parts come in...try it that way and see if it works at other dealerships..

Are the roof rails supposed to be flush up against the A pillar molding .. fitting like a puzzle piece, or, is there supposed to be a small gap between the two? I have about a 1/4 inch gap between the connecting moldings.

I have a gap there and they fit together crappy. When I put on my 2 marker lights, I put a screw through the pillar plastic into the roof plastic. I figured I couldn't make it fir worse. There is still a small gap but they sit flush now

Greetings all!

I think my H3 passenger side rail or trim has finally cracked as I am hearing the rattle/flapping noise at highway speeds/wind conditions tat everyone mentions.

Was this problem covered under a recall/TSB? My warranty has expired so I am interested in determining if GM will replace it for free given the widespread nature of this problem.

Thanks!
Chris
