I personally have never had steering wheel controls (other than cruise) so don't miss them and have gotten used to the switches.

I like the heated mirror option, especially for those owners in states that actually have snow!

As for the backup camera, my girl friend has the Lexus GX470 with backup cameras, and they suck! I would much rather backup with my mirrors, as I do in my F250 HD, then use the camera! The video on the navigation screen is annoying!

I would change or add a few items:
1. Larger engine - no, I am not into racing these vehicles, but a bit more power is definitely needed.
2. Better placement of seat controls
3. Heated mirror option
4. Armrests on the door and the center console are too low
5. Bluetooth capability - not completely necessary, but something to think about

And of course, the blonde, bisexual, nymphomaniac hardbody would definitely complete the package!!

Here's what the H3 should have had to start with...

- overhead console with map light and sunglasses pocket
- accessible window switches - either on center console or in front of door handle
- heated mirrors
- fold-flat rear seats
- NO chrome wheels on 2007 adv pkg (at least not standard)
- underhood engine light (nobody does this anymore)

And here's some "nice to haves"
- 6-speed manual tranny with hill-start clutch defeat
- mpg calculator in DIC
- rear window that lowers
- onboard power inverter
- onboard air compressor
- backup camera
- air-suspension
- more cubby holes and storage areas
- power seats with the cloth upholstery
- RDS on stereo and aux-in port for external ipod/mp3 player
- one-touch up and down switches for driver and psgr windows

- overhead console with map light and sunglasses pocket i always get a sunroof
- accessible window switches - either on center console or in front of door handle coming soon to your nearest Hummer dealer
- heated mirrors available via MUTH mirror, and I agree, they might be nice, but when I installed my signal mirrors, I did not opt for the heated mirrors
- fold-flat rear seats hard to do and keep current ground clearance. I believe the fuel tank is right below the drivers side rear seat. Making an opening for the seat to drop into, would require the fuel tank to be removed or made smaller. No easy answer to this one. If you want ground clearance the seat probably can't fold flat. but I also agree, it would be nice.
- NO chrome wheels on 2007 adv pkg (at least not standard) Agree, this is a dumb marketing move
- underhood engine light (nobody does this anymore) Totally agree. Due to lack of underhood light, the security system is basically worthless. I can open the hood without opening from inside, disable the battery, then the alarm is disabled. Don't ask me how, I won't tell you, but it can be done. I highly recommend a jimmy jammer plate installed under the hood, or better yet, an aftermarket alarm that has a mercury switch underhood. the thieves know how to do this...

And here's some "nice to haves"
- 6-speed manual tranny with hill-start clutch defeat
- mpg calculator in DIC damn things are never that accurate anyway
- rear window that lowers in some designs these are not good, problems with exhaust being sucked inside
- onboard power inverter i purchased one from Cobra for 24.00
- onboard air compressor
- backup camera
- air-suspension
- more cubby holes and storage areas this has never bothered me, but then all I have to do is look at the vette, where the console is only 1 inch deep, the owner's manual has to go in the cubby hole in the back since it is too large to fit in the glove box
- power seats with the cloth upholstery that would be nice, but again, marketing steps in and says we want it on leather only to help sell leather, again, I disagree with marketing
- RDS on stereo and aux-in port for external ipod/mp3 player i believe the ipod connections are coming next year
- one-touch up and down switches for driver and psgr windows agree

OK, I've been slow to answer this one,

BUT,

1. Window & lock switches in a better place
2. Fold flat back seats
3. Rear quarter window angle out via motors
4. Space the pedals better
5. Sunglass holder, more small & medium storage area
6. Performance options (what ever that means to you)
7. REDESIGN the power seat tracks so when things drop between
seat and hump and seat and door you can reach them without
cutting up your hands...
8. Underhood light
9. MAKE ALL OPTIONS AVAILABLE ON A SINGLE ORDER BASIC, not
just in groups ( you can still give a better discount in group but
don't force someone to buy something they don't want)
10. Factory rear camera
11. Louder factory horn
12. SOMEHOW & I don't know how lower the spare tire
13. Removeable rear headrest
14. More FACTORY OPTIONS
15. Place radio controls on steering wheel
16. Relocate emergency brake
17. Reduce use of CHEAP plastic on exterior
18. Increase length a little
19. Somehow increase rear interior width
20. Increase capacity of CD changer to at least 10
21. Factory AUDIBLE ALARM
22. Locking gas cap cover in black
23. More seat cover colors
24. More space to control power seats
25. Larger cup holders with space dimples(for bigger cup diameter)

THATS TO START

BUT I DO LOVE MY H-3

Appreciate the comments F5. I love the H3, but some of those "tweaks" would make it just that much nicer

I got the sunroof too, but there's still room for a short console like they put in the s10 blazer. It's cool they're relocating the switches (I wish I got in on that, but oh well). About the seats, if it was a choice between ground clearance and fold-flat, they did the right thing

MUTH mirrors ... gonna have to look into this !! I garage my H3 so frost isn't the issue, but my old heated mirrors were really handy in the driving snow.
