Especially if you off-road, since mud tends to permanently etch itself into the black trim. So after washing you gotta scrub, then put the right trim dressing since Armorall actually makes it WORSE in the long run! Speaking of long-run, don't forget the terribly bleaching effect from the sun -- especially Texas sun!
With chrome, you just need to wipe dry with micro fiber cloth after a car wash, and 5 minutes later, good as new! Even my gauged-up (way beyond scratches) chrome rims look great when clean and shiny. Lastly, the glare off your chrome trims gives you all the excuse you need to buy an additional pair (or 10) Chanel sunglasses!

Aah, I would attribute this to geography then, Phil. Living in a mega metropolis like LA -- instead of backwater itty bitty Texas village (regardless of how big a marble-lion-studded mansion you actually have) -- one could actually get a ticket for driving around in a mud-crusted vehicle.

Re: New member & hummer owner!
well, FWIW, its not necessary to fret about your chrome. my wheels aren't so hot anymore, but i'd still rather have something shiny than not.

Re: New member & hummer owner!
Depends on your personality. If you are creative and take pride in your accomplishments, no question go chrome, but tastefully. If you tend to take the easy way out of things or don't really care what the end result looks like, go black.
