Default Re: The GM 100K Mile Warranty...

Hmmmm.... that is food for thought

Also, I have been reading on other GM forum sites that this is a powertrain warranty as opposed to bumper to bumper. Many long time GM owners will tell you that they rarely experience powertrain issues until over the 150,000 mark unless the drive trains are beaten hard. In other words, the 100,000 mile warranty is really hype.

Now if it was bumper to bumper, I might sign on for a case of indigestion..

Yes, you are partially correct. Warranty figures will show that in the past the highest warranty items were radios, batteries, switches, cluster etc., and that powertrains usually develop any problems early in their life span.
However, considering the front Diff on the H3 and the problems we have seen ON THIS BOARD, it might be worth some of our fellow members getting an '07.

However, on another point, even if the warranty on these items is smaller in number, the warranty costs for these items is higher. Radio replacement is the cost of the radio and 3 tenths in labor. The cost of an engine replacement is the cost of the part plus 6+ hours in labor. An engine costs a hell of a lot more than a radio.
