Toyota and Nissan May Look to GM for Help on Diesel V8's

Interesting. GM is developing the new truck diesel that will go into production in a few years. Although this type of purchasing from another manufacturer is not unusual. Saturn has used the Honda V6 and 5AT trans in the VUE for a couple years. The 5L40 trans GM is now starting to use, was used by BMW for quite a few years, and is a GM powertrain trans.
Also, wonder what is being discussed by GM and Nissan? I believe there is more to it than the "we're just in discussions," statement that is always given.
