Re: Dates of Manufacture to track problems
Even though there can be a correlation between build dates and possible problem with components or actual assembly, it can cause some unneeded grief to some people.
Example, since my vehicle is an early build, it could have the rear axle lapping compound problem, cylinder head issue, loose taillight issue, etc. However, after 17K, it has none of these problems.
Similar to a technical bulletin. They are issued to inform the field that a problem could exist on certain vehicles, sometime even within a VIN range, but it does not imply that every vehicle in that range will have the problem.
Just my two-cents on the issue.
Besides, who will keep up the data base or build dates, versus possible problems?

Re: Dates of Manufacture to track problems
My build date on the upper right hand corner of the door sticker has either rubbed off or worn off somehow. Is it located somewheres else also? I think I recall a 7/05 build date for mine.
