Smile Re: Key and Remote

You guys are fantastic. I tell you I have been getting ripped off by dealers for years, this is the first time I have taken an active interest in auto forums for tips and advice and its great.

As a locksmith, I am showing a key for the Hummer H2 as a ( ILCO /EZ P1113/B102 (P) A Substitute key would be P1106/B86

I would check with a locksmith shop in your area to get a Key Cut for the Hummer. It will be much cheaper then the Dealership.

That sequence to program the remotes.....makes you wonder how many other "hidden" key sequences there are that do other stuff...

I looked on e-bay for the fob. A couple of questions.

1. The back of the fobs have "1" and "2" on them. Does it make any difference if I have two #2 fobs?

2. A lot of the FOBs look identical, such as 2005 H2 & Avalanche & Envoy. I'm guessing they are interchangable. Am I correct?

Thanks,

George SSSS

More key fob info.

My key fob started gradually failing. I pulled it apart, took out the switching unit from the plastic case and pulled off the rubber facing. I took a close look at the two black rubber dots on the under side of the rubber facing that press down on the circuit board and noticed they had become very slightly grooved or stained (couldn't tell which, but I could see lines that corresponded to the surface of the circuit board). I took the end of a screwdriver and gently scraped the surface of both dots clean and cleaned the scraping dust out of the surrounding facing. Then I reassembled it.

It took about 5 minutes (after 30 minutes of experimenting with other things) and its working fine.

Hope this helps some of you save some bucks.

Best regards,

George SSSS
