They said on the local news tonight that they are going to lay off 150-180 workers when they start back up in November.

I should probably know this -- but how many people actually work there? what percentage is that? It sounds high...

Yea, I just found this from the chicago tribune: "The H2 plant employs about 600, down from its peak of about 1,000 a few years ago. "

FWIW  : Believe they were referring only to the hourly (UAW) workforce. As I recall the high water mark for ALL AMG H2 Plant employees (salary + hourly) was 1170 back in mid-2002. That figure does not include rent-a-people and GM paid personnel assigned to the H2 Plant.

When the H4 comes out, will the H2 take the same road as the Ford Excursion ( to a dead end) ??
