I'm new here and just getting the feel for the board, But if the "Squadron" term is too controversial due to the active military unit then my suggestion would be to make it more associative to ground vehicles.
For example, 'Convoy' or 'Fleet'

"Convoy" isn't bad, but I see no reason to change it. I like it just fine the way it is
