My speedometer went out at a 110 MPH. The funny thing I was driving around town when it went out.
Took it into the Dealership and they replace it under warranty

This happened on my 03 Avalanche... the speedo (which is the same as the H2 for the most part) has a microprocessor driven stepper-motor. This stepper motor is most likely your problem. This motor can be replaced... but with tracking down the little stepper motor and replacing it.. it may be easier to just Ebay another entire cluster gauge.
(my avalanche - the speedo needle would sometimes "hang" in one place, or just go erratic......... After a couple months of this.. it would go up to speed.. then slowly work its way to zero)
