I read that early this morning. The shot takes at least 5 days to be effective and is kinda like the flu shot as it is based on a popular strain of Bordatella at the time it was manufactured. I believe it to be kennel cough or a reverse sneezing but since the symptoms developed; I assume it to be KC and being a virus I have decided not to get antibiotics unless she becomes worse or develops a fever or stops eating or drinking.

I also found out she is the "deer" type of Chihuahua (longer slender legs and a deer shaped head- still AKC), which is so darn cute. She does look just like a tiny deer and folds her legs up like one.

You're right, usetosellhummer. Keep her hydrated. And make sure you put the eyedropper of water at the CORNER of her mouth, not directly down her throat. The vet told us a pet can choke on being given fluids too fast and/or it can go into the lungs. Pets lap water, so aren't used to having it given so freely through their throat. Poor little 'deer-like' Peepers.

Went for a ride in the car this afternoon and she was doing great, she doesn't like riding in cars. We were less than 3 minutes from the house when she barfed on CP. It was a big one, too! Poor little thing.

All she needed to do was throw-up. You should have stuck your finger down her throat. She had a hair ball.
